If you’re anything like me, when I first set up my blog about a year ago, I had NO CLUE where to start. Should I use Blogger, Blog spot, WordPress, or any of the 100′s of other blog platforms that are out there?

I assumed a blog was just a blog. Boy, did I learn otherwise!

After a lot of research, recommendations, and help from others (that’s the “Network” part of network marketing) I realized that I better go with installing WordPress for my blog.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with WordPress, it’s a blog platform that gives you a pre-built blog site for free. But if you REALLY want to boost up your blog marketing – you really need to get a self-hosted WordPress blog and your own personal domain. And I’m going to go into more details why here in the list.

As any smart marketer realizes – leave the hard stuff to the professionals. So that is why I outsourced my blog set-up (which included the graphics, RSS feeds, theme, and connection to all of my social networking sites) to THE professional blog set-up guru I know – Ms. Shannon Shubert at IM Group Marketing.

I also self-hosted my site – and again, to another professional who knows a ton more information about self-hosting and is THE ONLY person I would trust with hosting my blog – Holly Powell at Nonstop Social Media.

If you stop by their sites, tell them I sent you!

Here are my Top 5 Reasons to Use WordPress for your blog:

1. Google Loves WordPress – If you’re using a blog for your marketing strategies, you’re probably interested in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – at least a little bit. If you’re into SEO, then you want and need Google giving your site “some love.” Now, I could go on and on and on and on and ON about SEO, but the idea is that you want Google ranking your site higher than your competition for any given keyword. Well, for whatever reason, Google loves WordPress. Period. Game, set, match! You need a WordPress blog if you are in SEO strategies.

Yes, you can use other blog sites and still get good ranking, but you typically have to work harder to get the same amount of “love” from Google as your competition. If you already have a different blog and are so far into it that it would hurt you more than help you, just stick with it and MAKE IT WORK. But AT LEAST have it self-hosted – which leads me into my next point.

2. Self hosted – I have this in my top 5 reasons, well, for a good reason. (Oh man I’m witty!) You can use the free version of wordpress and have no problems and make that work for you just fine. But you could run into a few problems, the biggest of which is that your blog could be here one day, and gone the next. If you have a self hosted WordPress blog, no one can touch it. It’s yours. Yes, you’re paying a small monthly hosting fee (usually around $5.00 or less) but it’s WELL worth its value considering the thought that you might lose your blog otherwise.

On top of having your blog self hosted – I would also recommend getting a domain name that is specific to you. Mine is obviously www.LinusRuzicka.com. It looks a lot more professional that the generic site URL that WordPress gives your site. Having your domain forwarded is essential for branding YOU in this industry.

3. WordPress Design Themes – Now , do you want the generic WordPress Theme that comes with WordPress, or a custom designed one that is specific only to you? The default WordPress theme is perfect if you’re just setting up a blog to have a blog. BUT, since you’re in this industry to make money and brand you, I suggest a designed custom theme. There are tons of people who design custom WordPress Themes that you can easily upload to your domain, to change the appearance and feel of your WordPress website. Some of the WP Themes are paid versions, but most of them are free.

There are more than 1000 themes loaded directly into the WordPress theme website, from which you can choose, although you are not limited to just the themes loaded into the WordPress website. Since I outsourced the design and feel of my blog, my designer and I talked bakc and forth for a week or so to grind out the details of what I wanted. The theme I chose is very SEO friendly (“Monezine” theme), but there are many other to choose from such as “Flexibility” or “Thesis”

4. Plug-ins – This is my favorite. Plugins are what soups-up your blog and converts it from a 1992 Ford Taurus, into a 2010 Chevy Camaro. The right plug-in can save you time, make you money, and make your job a WHOLE lot easier. In fact, I think I’ll make my next post on specific plug-ins just so you can see some of the money making ones you NEED to have on your blog (So make sure to Sign-up to get my blog updates via e-mail so you can get the next one).

Just like with the WordPress Themes, if there is a specific function you want your blog to perform, there are programmers out there who have created WordPress Plugins that will make your job A LOT easier. There are 1000′s of WordPress Plugins on the WordPress.org website (wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ ), which are free and an ever growing amount that are not in the WordPress database. You just have to go looking for them.

When you find a Plugin you want, just click “Install” on that specific plugin page, and it will automatically download, unzip, and upload it to the right Plugin directory on your blog. After it finished its upload, simply go to the backoffice area of your blog to “activate” the plugin.

5. WordPress functionality – Now, I don’t want to lose you here on this one, so I’ll keep it simple. WordPress is an HTML based blog platform. The reason I love that is that it allows you to do SOOOOOOO much more to your blog. Whan you’re creating a post – you have the ability to add videos, pics, graphics, links, and audio all in HTML format. The cool thing is, when you create posts, you can create them in a What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) design – meaning that what you see on the screen is what your readers will see. Or you can do HTML formating – all with a click of the mouse and flip-flop back and forth.

To Double check and see what your content will look like, you can “Preview” it and see it in real time on your designed blog to double check and make sure it looks the way you want it to.

So there you have it, the Top 5 Reasons To Use WordPress For Your Blog, but that’s not the end of it yet. To get more Free blog marketing strategies and find out how you can get more network marketing tips delivered straight to your inbox visit the Linus Ruzicka Marketing Nerve Center.
Article Source

If you want a blog and want to make money with your blog quickly, then you should look into wordpress adsense templates.Blog have become very popular in recent years and are very popular with search engines including google. You can get a wordpress blog setup at wordpress.com and its free, or you can setup your own wordpress blog on your own site. I tend to choose to have my blog hosted on my own hosting plan so I have control over my blog. After you get your domain name, look for a quality web host that allows you cpanel access. Once you are logged in to to your cpanel, click on the fantastico button and you can install wordpress in a matter of minutes with just a few clicks of the mouse. Yes, it is that easy and even a caveman could do it.You will not be able to start working on your site. You have your domain name and have setup your wordpress blog on your hosting account – all you will need now is a professioanl looking adsense ready theme that will allow you to start making money in no time. One ley way to start making money from your blog will be to put google adsense on it. When you put the adsense code on your blog it will look at the content on your pages and place rlevant content on there and will earn you money when some click on one of those ads.To help yourself in the learning curve it is probably good to get a wordpress adsense theme – here are 4 different things you should look for in a theme.1. Easy Customization Most people do not know how to read or edit a php file. Look for a wordpress template that has already added the adsense for you. All you need to do is open a couple of files and add your publisher id number. An added bonus is if a video tutorial is included that shows you exactly how to add your publisher id.You will also need to add your own uniwue content to the blog without the theme upsetting the appearance of your site.2. SEO and Navigation Features Here is a list of features to look for: WordPress search Archives listed in navigation Categories listed in navigation Blogroll or links Adsense links units at top Commenting and discussion possible Compatible with wordpress plugins3. Having a professionally designed header should also be an aspect that you should look at as having an affect on whether you buy a theme or not. Having a good header will mean that people stay on your site and will read your content.4. Earn income from multiple streams of income You want to make sure that you are not depending solely on adsense to make money online. Make sure you are able to add items like an opt in form for list building, affiliate products that go along with your niche and other streams of income.Blogging on your own blog and monetizing with adsense is a great way of getting started – go make some money now.

With the addition of the Plugin Update Notification into WordPress 2.3, it is now more important than ever before that plugin authors maintain and update their plugins on a regular basis. Failure to do so may see their plugin dropped from wordpress.org while user’s migrate to other more up-to-date plugins.

Some of the most popular WordPress plugins have already been tested and listed as WordPress 2.3 compatible plugins. Sadly many will never be compatible as their authors have given up development.

Developing a successful and popular blog or website is made easier by using WordPress, even more so now that canonical redirection and update notifications are included by default. Bloggers wishing to grow their site, increase traffic, manage content, and monetize their pages will however need to install some of the excellent plugins available. Here’s a short list of must have plugins:

“Akismet v2.02″, without this many bloggers quickly become bogged down in dealing with spam. The Akismet plugin sends a query to the Akismet servers with every comment posted and checks the users email address and their comment for spam. Akismet will automatically reject spam giving webmasters peace of mind and restoring ‘blogging innocence’.

“Backup WordPress”, the easiest and quickest way to backup your entire WordPress install, including database, themes, uploads, in fact even the entire site with core files. We all know operating a popular site requires time and effort, and when a site goes down its good to know you have a backup.

“No follow case by case”, for webmasters who really don’t want comment authors getting any link juice from their hard won efforts to build their PR. Linking to potentially bad neighborhoods or sites that aren’t in your niche can damage our site’s SERPs, luckily the no follow tag is honored by most major search engines. No follow case by case allows you to select any comment link that shouldn’t be followed, or leave the default setting which automatically applies the no follow tag to all comment links.

“Google Sitemaps Generator”, designed to work with Google, Yahoo, Ask.com and MSN Search, this plugin will generate your sitemap in plain text and compressed format, then ping Google, Ask.com and Yahoo when you update your site. The generated sitemap will also include a priority rating for each entry based on the number of comments received.

“Mint Popular Posts” utilizes Mint, one of the best tracking packages for complete analysis of your website traffic. Find out which pages your visitors are reading, which links they’re clicking, which ad’s they’re clicking, and more.

Did I miss important plugins? Yes, what about Advertising plugins? for plugins which support AdSense, there are 2 plugins that are listed in the plugin compatibility list at the time this article written, they are “AdSense Deluxe” and “AdSense Manager”, but here is another new plugin but it’s not free (although it’s pretty cheap), “DynamicAds”, it’s compatible with WordPress 2.3 and one of the the plugin’s features allows you to control how you want to rotate your ads in various locations on your site.

Those are the essential plugins that need to be firstly installed to your WordPress website.

This article was written by DynamicAds, DynamicAds is an Ad Placements Rotator plugin for WordPress that is fully compatible with WordPress 2.3, it allows you to control how you want to rotate your ads at various locations on your site.

A WordPress tutorial can teach how to use WordPress in blogging, but by far the best way to learn is by means of a WordPress video tutorial. Why video and why WordPress? Let’s take the last question first.

Why WordPress

Most people use either Blogger or WordPress for their blog, and there appears to be an ongoing debate as to which is best. I prefer to design my own blogs using Drupal, but that’s not related to this topic. With repect to the Blogger and WordPress debate, there is only one answer for serious bloggers.

WordPress. That is in now way being derogatory towards Blogger – just fact: run from Google’s hosting site kown as Blogspot, Blogger is an easy blogging system to use, and being easy, it has very litle opportunity for customization; however Googe users can use Google’s toobar to add posts or online content to their blog at the clickof a button. However, WordPress wins hands down when we consider serious boggers seeking more detailed customization.

Sure, you can ftp Blogger to your website and run it from there, but if you do the same with WordPress you have an infinitely larger number of possibilities that Blogger cannot even begin to compete against.

WordPress Video Tutorials

If you want to operate WordPress form your website you have to do it right, and it takes some knowledge of how your web space works and also of your online databases. However, learning is well worth it, and there are WordPress video tutorials online that can help you to do so easily. There is a lot involved, but all you have to do is copy what you see on the video and you will get the same result as the video does.

Not only that, but in order to make best use of it, you have to learn the benefits of using plugins, widgets and themes and how to use them to your advantage. These are what make your blog what it is: add Adsense bocks, a calendar or a blogroll – or all three. If you understand how to do it, you can alter the entire appearance and functionlaity of your blog.

WordPress Templates and Themes

WordPress templates are what give your blog its online appearance. Your theme can be chosen according to style or color. For example you can a space-oriented style, woodland, nature, medical, etc. The themes and templates contain graphics that can represent any topic that your blog is based upon. An environmental theme, for example, could be based upon melting icebergs, or pets on a theme displaying any animal you want to choose. There are thousands of WordPress templates available online, both free and paid.

WordPress Plugins and Widgets

Plugins are small applications or code that carry out certain actions. As an example, there are plugins that optimize your posts for Google, amd you also get one that sends a tweet to Twitter when you make a new post. It will shrink the tweet to a TinyURL link. You can download a plugin to your blog that will allow you to add a calendar in any format you desire.

A widget is a small icon that activates these plugins when clicked upon. If you use a good Worpress tutorial, all that will be explained, but if your are doubly fortunate to have a WordPress video tutorial, then you will be able to see what is being done and follow it exactly with your own blog and make it work as it should.

There is now doubt in my view that Blogger is inferior to WordPress as a blogging system, as long as you run WordPress from your own website, and you will also need a WordPress tutorial, preferably a WordPress video tutorial, to ensure that it is installed correctly and that you understand how your blog can be modified and customized to what you want it to look like.

Good Luck!

If you really want a great-looking blog, check out Pete’s WordPress video tutorial course at WordPress Tutorial and learn how to design fabulous bogs that will make your friends jealous.
Article Source

WordPress has become a hugely popular open source blogging and publishing platform. The abundance of free themes and plugins as well as its ease-of-use have contributed to the attraction and popularity for using WordPress. While there are some great free themes for WordPress, many only offer basic functionality and simplistic designs.Since late 2007 however an increasing number of WordPress theme developers have been offering premium WordPress themes – themes which are offered for a fixed price. These premium WordPress themes are usually sold for between $50 to $250. Originally only a small number of talented and well-known WordPress theme designers created paid premium WordPress themes which were well designed, highly functional, top-quality themes that transformed a WordPress installation from a simple blog into a powerful content management system. However as the premium WordPress theme business concept spread, more and more WordPress theme designers have hopped on the bandwagon trying to cash on the new trend filling up their portfolio with premium (paid) wordpress themes. However with greater variety and numbers of paid premium WordPress themes also comes varying levels of quality. So what specifically makes a premium WordPress theme premium? Some characteristics that should set a premium wordpress theme apart from a free theme are listed below:Quality and Unique DesignPremium WordPress themes should be just that – Premium. They should look better and be of a much higher quality and unique design than compared to those available for free.FeaturesWhile all themes are different, in general premium WordPress themes should have more “Features” than their free counterparts. What that means depends on the theme in question. However some features may include: “Featured Posts” areas, Multiple layout options for the home page, drop down menus, multiple customs templates for pages, custom field options, print style sheets etc.Customization Options and FexibilityPeople want options, so Premium WordPress themes should be customisable. Buying a premium theme will set you apart from the crowd significantly, but since other people will still be using the same theme, premium themes should be able to be easily customized further, whether it be for the layout, colours, images, or all of the above.Live Preview or DemoThere should be a live demo or preview of the theme so you can test it and check it out before buying. If there is no live preview or demo that should be a warning sign. You should ask why don’t they want you to test the theme first? All reputable premium theme sellers will have a live demo full of content for you to test. Explore the live demo thoroughly, testing all pages to see that the theme works properly and there are no errors or mistakes.Full SupportIf you’re buying a premium WordPress theme it should also come with a certain degree of support from the designer. The level of support can vary however and will range from personalised individual support from the designer, to the provision of forums or blog comment sections for asking questions and obtaining support from the designer and other people who have purchased the theme.Supporting DocumentationPremium WordPress themes should come with an instruction manual or document. This should explain how to upload and install the theme and how to manage any of the options that are built into the theme.Free UpdatesWordpress is continually being updated and improved and a premium WordPress theme developer should be offering you free updates of the theme when required.Well Coded and Error Free There should be no coding errors, misspellings, X images, etc in a premium WordPress theme. The theme has cross browser compatible and been tested to work properly on all the major browsers, plus the theme should have clean and valid code and adhere to strict XHTML and CSS standards.

So I’ll discuss a little about the wordpress platform, themes, recommended plugins and some tips.If you have just started blogging, there are a few steps you should take. 1. Activate the akismet plugin. This plugin comes preinstalled with wordpress but you have to activate it and get a wordpress key (which takes 2 minutes). Akismet blocks spam comments on your blog, so if you choose to enable comments on your posts (which you should) then this plugin is a must, and best of all it’s a set and forget. 2. Choose a theme. You could use the default theme, but it’s way overused. The ideal is to choose a theme that is very user friendly, with good link visibility, nice color contrast, and a nice and attractive layout. If you know how to design a theme or can change a free theme to your liking, then you should do so, unique content and layout designs are always a better choice than free themes that are probably used by hundreds or more. A good place to get themes is the WordPress Theme Directory. Another one is searching google for “free wordpress themes” 3. Decide on a permalink structure, permalinks are the actual links to your blog posts, and wordpress gives you a lot of flexibility here. For maximum SEO performance, you should simply choose “yourdomain.com/blog-post-title” but this really comes down to personal preference as I personally don’t think it makes that much of a difference, so you might prefer “yourdomain.com/year/month/blog-post-title” that is also search engine (and user) friendly. Whatever you choose, do activate the permalink feature because otherwise you’ll have those ugly query strings all over your urls. 4. Download and install the Google XML Sitemaps Generator Plugin. This plugin takes care of updating and submitting your sitemap to Google and other search engines. This allows search engine to know more about the structure of your website. 5. Dowload and install the All In One SEO Pack Plugin. This plugin optimizes your blogs output for search engine optimization. Optimizes keywords, page titles and more. 6. Install the ShareThis plugin or a similar social bookmarking plugin. This should go right after your posts along with a reminder letting visitors know they can subscribe to your feed. This way visitors have some options when they finish reading your posts. If they like your post, they will be able to quickly submit it to whatever social bookmarking sites they use or e-mail to a friend. 7. Create an About page. You should use this page to introduce yourself to the visitors, your background, your work, what you do and like and what people should expect from your blog. This gives your blog a personal touch that helps visitors to identify you as an actual human behind the blog. Also consider placing one or several pictures of yourself on the about page (or on a photos page if you prefer) as this also greatly increases the human awareness of the visitor. 8. Create a Contact page. You can simply put up a page with e-mail instructions or use a contact me plugin like Secure and Accessible PHP Contact Form. This gives confidence to the visitor that he can reach you if he so chooses and, like the about page, gives the human touch. 9. Create an account on FeedBurner for your blog and give your visitors a visible option to subscribe to your blog by RSS and by e-mail (FeedBurner takes good care of all this). This allows users to use an rss reader or just get your posts by e-mail. Most visitors never return so you should make it easy and worthwhile for them to subscribe to your blog and receive future updates.Well, those are 9 of the things that I think are most common and needed, but I could go on, you should familiarize yourself as much as possible with wordpress (or your other blogging platform of choice), try out new plugins and optimize your theme. It’s a work in progress, but you shouldn’t let that get in the way of your posting. You could consider setting up a password protected subdomain and creating a clone blog for testing (or install it on your own computer) because once you start getting traffic you shouldn’t go trying new things on your live site where things could break giving your visitors a bad surfing experience. A clone blog is obviously just a blog installation that matches your actual site with the same theme, same plugins and a few dummy posts so you can do your testing.Once you get your blog ready to go, all that’s left to do is start posting! You should make a nice first post, introducing yourself briefly and letting the reader know that you have an About page with more details. You should give some idea of what visitors can expect from your blog posts. Now for some quick blogging tips: 1. Make constant posts. You should try your best to do about 3 posts per week minimum. This all depends on your ability to express yourself with words. If you’re good at it, then post as much as you can, daily or even bidaily. If you’re not, well, then try to make at least 3 posts per week. 2. Use post titles wisely. Your post title is very important as it’s the part that will be most visible to the web. Create informative titles, the words you choose here will eventually make your site rank on google for some or all of those same keywords. 3. Make medium to long posts. Not saying that you can’t do small blog posts, you can and should, but you should try your best to create full length and keyword rich posts. Write your best and biggest posts as if the were articles with a small intro, content and conclusion. 4. Post about other blogs. Read blogs about the same topic than yours and link to them and do your own spin on the post, agree, disagree, whatever. Basically try to engage in friendly debates with other bloggers. 5. Leave them wanting for more. End your posts with a small text about what you’ll be posting about next time. Be creative and suspenseful. 6. Proof read and spell check your post before publishing. Occasional typos are ok, but proof reading and using a spell checker should keep them to a minimum. 7. Have fun! You should be having fun blogging. If you’re just starting you can probably feel a little intimidated or sometimes don’t knowing what to post. But you shouldn’t stress to much about it, just take a break and post some other time. Blogging should be relaxing not stressful. Find inspiration around you.Well and that’s it, there you have just some blogging tips to get you started. These are of course mostly geared to blogging beginners. You can do much more with blogs and use the blogging platform to create other type of niche sites and adsense sites but that is topic for a whole different article.

I was asked by Mark:

blogging, blogger,blogspot,make money from blog

When is it best to use: DreamWeaver vs. WordPress Templates vs. Drupal or some other program to create websites?

Answer:

blogging, blogger,blogspot,make money from blog

You can learn any or all three and put out an effective website.

I would look at what the website will need:

Dreamweaver can be used to design all three types of sites – ie, you could build a Drupal site in Dreamweaver or a WordPress site in Dreamweaver. In fact, I’ve done all three – Drupal, WordPress, and straight HTML in Dreamweaver.

blogging, blogger,blogspot,make money from blog

Drupal is a CMS – so if you’re building a site that needs a lot of management or is going to have people managing the content who don’t know or don’t want to learn HTML, this might be a good choice. Drupal offers lots of plugins and extensions like a blog, calendar, and forum. So if you think the site is going to have all those things eventually this might be a good choice.

WordPress is first and foremost a blogging tool. Yes, lots of people are starting to use it to manage their entire site, but most of the time you can tell these sites because they look like blogs. They might have 1 or 2 static pages, but typically the blog is the most important part of a WordPress site. If that’s what your site is, then this is a good solution.

Finally, Dreamweaver alone. You can build any type of site you want using just Dreamweaver. You won’t have the built-in tools for blogging or CMS like you do with Drupal and WordPress, but you have the flexibility to build anything you like. And as I said before, you can use Dreamweaver to build and maintain the templates for your Drupal or WordPress sites.

Blogs are usually aimed for the organic traffic from the SEOs. Search Engines like blogs because their information is constantly updating. You can also optimize the content of your blog for the specific keywords so that your articles would get more attention of the SEOs. Don’t forget that blogs have the informative aim. So if you promote some services there, don’t overstuff it, because the visitors will not like it. People will come to your blog to look for the information. Try to offer your visitors as much useful information as possible, so that they would like to visit your blog again and bookmark your page.Unlike the websites, blogs are more personal place in the Internet. You can personalize your blog by offering some information about yourself, adding a picture of your dog. It will make your visitors be loyal to you and visit your blog more often. Be yourself and share your honest point of view when you write for your blog. You can also write from the first person there, it will make you closer to your readers.Besides the SEO, the other way for generating more traffic to your blog is the links exchanging. You can exchange links with other blogs and as a result you will receive traffic from the other blogs as well as the other blogs will get visitors from your blog. Don’t be courteous that it may cause all your visitors go to the other blogs. Link exchanging strategy proved its effectiveness. It lets more traffic visit your blog. Even if some of them leave your page, those who are interested in your services will stay with you.Don’t underestimate the blogging. This easy and not expensive method can play a main role in the promotion of your internet based business and help you make money from home.

6 WordPress Plugins to Increase Comments

Boost Blog Conversation and Traffic with These WordPress Plugins

blogging, blogger,blogspot,make money from blog

* blog comments

blogging, blogger,blogspot,make money from blog

Each of the WordPress plugins listed below will encourage visitors to join the conversation on your blog. Conversations are the first step to building a strong blog community. They also encourage repeat traffic as people want to be a part of the ongoing discussion. As the conversation and your blog’s community grow, so will your blog’s traffic!

1. CommentLuv

blogging, blogger,blogspot,make money from blog

Adding the CommentLuv WordPress plugin to your blog is a great way to show your readers that you value them and the comments they leave on your blog posts. With CommentLuv, every comment left on your blog automatically includes a snippet and link back to the commenter’s most recent blog post (assuming the identifying information in their submitted comment form tracks back to a blog with a feed from which the most recent blog post can be scraped). Bloggers love this WordPress plugin because it can increase traffic to their own blogs more so than a traditional comment link from their names can.

2. Show Top Commentators

Most people are inherently competitive and like recognition. The Show Top Commentators WordPress plug-in leverages both of those innate desires by recognizing and rewarding the most vocal people in your blog’s community. Using the Show Top Commentators plugin, you can create an automated list (which you can reset on a daily, weekly or monthly basis) that displays a list of people who are the most frequent commentators on your blog. The list includes a Google-friendly link back to each commenter’s blog or website. A word of caution, many users report an increase in spam comments when using the Show Top Commentators WordPress plugin. However, the plugin does include settings to help you filter out spam comments.

3. Subscribe to Comments

The Subscribe to Comments WordPress plugin is a must have for any blogger looking to increase comments on his or her blog. With this plugin, your blog readers can subscribe to receive email alerts when new comments are left on posts they’re interested in. It’s a great way to draw people back into a conversation that they’ve already expressed interest in.

4. Do Follow

The Do Follow Plugin for WordPress removes the NoFollow tag from all comments left on your blog thereby rewarding commenters by ensuring links left within their comments count in Google searches.

5. WordPress Thread Comment

The WordPress Thread Comment plugin enhances the functionality of commenting on WordPress blogs by enabling people to comment on any existing comment within a thread of comments and view those comments as a threaded or nested conversation. Some users report having to modify the email messages and other wording that is programmed into the plugin to clean up grammar, etc., but the functionality is great, particularly for blogs that receive a lot of comments.

6. Most Commented

The Most Commented plugin automatically generates and displays a list of the posts on your blogs that have the most comments. The theory is that people will be interested in posts that other people are talking about. Posts with a lot of comments attract people to click on the links and take a closer look to see what the buzz is about.
